Chelsea are reportedly in talks to sign Gonzalo Higuain on loan from Juventus until the end of the season.
Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has prioritised bringing in a new striker during the January window after losing faith in Alvaro Morata to lead the line.
Higuain has been constantly linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks, but the Argentina international is currently on loan with AC Milan, which has complicated negotiations.
According to The Telegraph, however, the 31-year-old’s brother Nicolas was in London on Thursday to help broker a deal, with Chelsea hoping to take the striker on loan until the summer and then discuss a permanent deal.
The report suggests that Morata will be granted a Stamford Bridge exit before the window closes after attracting interest from numerous clubs, including Spanish side Sevilla.
